You want to be loved for who you are, not what you do.”

– Rachel Bell

In this episode, I’ll reveal the ugly cycle of perfectionism and procrastination and ruthlessly (with love, of course) call-out the four biggest reasons we self-sabotage. You’ll get the tools to finally break the habit and, together, we’ll put our hands over our hearts and demand MORE. Prepare yourselves, fellow perfectionists and procrastinators – it’s about to get real up in here but I promise it’ll be totally worth it.

Here’s a glance at what you’ll learn from me in this episode:

  • The vicious and BUTT-UGLY cycle of perfectionism and procrastination.

  • The real mind-f*ck about the whole thing.

  • The 4 biggest reasons for self-sabotage.

  • Tools to BREAK the habit and set yourself FREE (fly, little bird!).

  • A promise to make to yourself – now and forever.

  • 15:35 – Why we self-sabotage:

    • 15:50 – 1.) Childhood programming – we’ve been trained by our past.

    • 24:30 – Our comparisons mutate into jealously and judgement.

    • 25:05 – 3.) We hide from the doubt that we can fulfill our destiny.

    • 26:50 – 4.) We’re good at clever excuses – and sometimes don’t even know it.

  • 26:25 – Procrastinating is a hiding mechanism and perfectionism is a from crippling insecurity.

  • 27:35 – The reality is, you still had the same amount of excuses before the pandemic as you do now, as you will after.

    • 31:00 – Give yourself healthy leveraged pressure to help keep you accountable and on the line.

    • 32:28 – Put due dates on everything you do and accept that your first iteration will not be the best.

    • 33:30 – Try “sprint sessions” like the Pomodoro Technique.

    • 35:25 – Sprint sessions allow you to take breaks, digest your dreams, and become more efficient.

    • 37:00 – Go on a low information diet and monitor your screen time.

    • 38:50 – Stop checking your phone in the morning, delete apps, and try a digital detox.

    • 40:00 – Pick your battles: “Ask yourself, will this matter on my deathbed?”

    • 41:00 – Take messy action and create fearlessly.

Put your hand over your heart and say: ‘I am SO DONE with playing small. I know that I am MEANT FOR MORE and I will fearlessly pursue that FOREVER.”
